About this artwork
To create this piece, Whispers in Monochrome, I used an interplay of tissue paper, acrylic colors, and chalk powder to build the foundation. The mixture of these three elements beneath the brush strokes of the monochrome of the acrylic paint evoke a sense of a subtle whisper. Hence, the name of this painting: Whispers in Monochrome. In essence, the manifestation of the layers of tissue paper, acrylic paints, and the chalk powder gave rise to a texture…
that conveys a sense of mystery and hidden depths. During the process, my internal voice convinced me to softly apply the final strokes of the single tone of the acrylic color over the magical layers of the tissue paper and chalk powder to represent an element that bears the weight of time and memory. That voice dictated the direction of the painting, which invites you, art lovers and collectors alike, to engage in a conversation about my engagement as the artist to bring this piece to the world.
