About this artwork
I usually bought store made canvas. But, to create this piece, Protect our Planet, I wanted to build the canvas myself. As I was buying the fabric, with the rectangular shape of the painting already set in my mind, I felt the need to come up with a creation deemed different, which related to the planet: an artistic awareness of the current chaotic world. Indeed, as soon as I mounted the fabric on the wood, making up the canvas, intuitively, I wanted…
to create a piece similar to a mountain made of soft and gentle acrylic colors to evoke tranquility and hope for a better future. In other words, I wanted to create an artwork aimed at displaying the beauty of the planet without wars and destruction derived from the irrational men. Thus, I gave birth to Protect our Planet in pouring methodically the acrylic colors on the canvas and proceeded with final touch-ups and detailing with oil pastel, forming the peaceful geometrical space of the abstract landscape.
