About this artwork
An artist proved to never completely satisfy with an artwork until the piece finds a new home. This is what occured here with this piece, which I thought having finished in 2021. Each time I looked at this piece, it grabbed my attention to modify it. So, to respond to this artistic exigency, I found myself being compelled to proceed with some minor touch-ups. I was not quite sure as to how I was going to handle the rework. This morning, after having…
looked at the painting in the eyes, I was convinced to just do it without any delays. I took the piece with me in the studio and sat in front of it with a white color of oil pastel to help find my way through. Indeed, although the master always said you cannot redo something that is perfect, I was convinced that I gave this piece, The Second Touch, a new life, a new spirit, and a new dimension. My quote, when a piece of artwork calls you, never ignore her call because behind such a call there is a new source of energy with new emotions.
