About this artwork
Inspired by higher spatial dimensions and how we might or might not be able to exist in the fifth dimension, for example, this photographic print was created by Mona Choo as part of a series that explores these ideas. There is geometry everywhere in nature. Can this geometry be manipulated to reveal dimensions of which we are as yet unaware, and how might our physical bodies be represented in other dimensional worlds?
The effects within this experimental… artwork were achieved through a number of processes, including drawing, screenprinting, shape forming and photography, and do not involve any digital retouching at all. Only minor tonal adjustments were made. In my practice, each stage of the process is an opportunity to develop and evolve the work, alternating between manipulating the flat two dimensional surface into an three dimensional interpretation, and the subsequent two dimensional expression of this evolution.

Interdisciplinary artist, Mona Choo, was born in Singapore and now lives between Singapore and Tasmania. Through a multi-media practice, Choo endeavours to combine her formal training as a printmaker with the practices of drawing, painting, digital print, and sculpture.
