About this artwork
PROVENCE NIGHTS oil painting by Mona Edulesco.
Original textured palette knife oil painting on gallery wrapped canvas 30x30x4 cm (12x12x1.5 in).
This painting was exhibited at the "Ligne et Couleur" exhibition (the French association of Architects-Artists, of which Mona is also a member). The exhibition runs from May 19, 2023 to June 1, 2023 in Séguret in Provence.
This painting depicts a magical nightscape of Provencal inspiration.
Long time… since Mona is in love with the magic of Provence and everything inspires her over there...whether it is an enchanting village, a glorious field of sunflowers or lavender, or a charming market...
« “I have always loved to approach my urban paintings in a myriad of ways. I enjoy stylizing architectural forms using the versatility of oil paint and palette knives.” »
Mona Edulesco is a French-Romanian painter who resides in France and whose art has been featured in Parisian group exhibitions. Her preference for abstract cityscapes reflects her background in architecture and urban planning. Edulesco merges her experience in architectural concept drawings with the freedom and energy of palette knife painting into phantasmagorical textural impressionistic works. She creates watercolor pieces and uses them later as a reference for her oil paintings.
