About this artwork
In this work I wanted to give shape to the moment in which two essences approach and recognize each other.
I chose two opposing faces, painted in opposing colors: blue and azure as water, silence, and depth; orange and copper as fire, heat, and passion. In their confrontation, there is not conflict, but dialogue.
The golden surface that separates them is not a wall, but a sacred space, an invisible threshold where differences meet and become harmony.…
“Incontro” represents our need to look each other in the eye, to listen to each other even without words, to recognize in the other a reflection of ourselves.
Monica Mauriello is a self-taught artist who works with a wide range of techniques and materials, including oil, acrylic, watercolor, pouring, and pencil drawing. Her artistic production is placed in the field of abstract contemporary art, but also includes figurative works, especially portraits and landscapes.
Through a personal and constantly evolving style, she explores the depths of emotional experience, translating feelings, moods and desires into shapes and colors. Her abstract works are true interior journeys, conceived to reveal what lies beyond appearances and stimulate a sensorial and emotional connection with the observer. Alongside the abstract dimension, her figurative drawings represent a synthesis between observation of reality and not only artistic emotion, confirming her expressive and creative versatility.
