About this artwork
This work was born from the idea of life as continuous movement.
Shades of blue represent the flow of existence: energy that changes shape, that flows, that never stops amidst obstacles and mutations. The various cool hues represent everything we experience, emotions, events. It is the natural movement of things, the profound rhythm of life.
Copper emerges as a sign of hope. It is neither weight nor limitation, but a memory of light, a trace of… a brilliance that endures over time. It is what emerges when movement encounters something that endures and leaves its mark.
In the dialogue between blue and copper, movement finds meaning: it doesn't rush toward dispersion, but is enriched by presence. Life flows, but leaves luminous signs of its passing.
The breath of movement speaks to this balance: living means moving, but also remembering that you can shine.
Monica Mauriello is a self-taught artist who works with a wide range of techniques and materials, including oil, acrylic, watercolor, pouring, and pencil drawing. Her artistic production is placed in the field of abstract contemporary art, but also includes figurative works, especially portraits and landscapes.
Through a personal and constantly evolving style, she explores the depths of emotional experience, translating feelings, moods and desires into shapes and colors. Her abstract works are true interior journeys, conceived to reveal what lies beyond appearances and stimulate a sensorial and emotional connection with the observer. Alongside the abstract dimension, her figurative drawings represent a synthesis between observation of reality and not only artistic emotion, confirming her expressive and creative versatility.
