About this artwork
Fantasy representation of a landscape under the underwater world in turquoise tones with traces of living beings and plants. Created by very intensive brushstrokes with large and small area brushes and oil pastel chalk, painting over, destroying, intensifying the color scheme, painting over again. Music accompanied this creative process to a large extent.

Monika Jansen is a passionate German artist whose works have featured in prizes, exhibitions and collections throughout the country. Hoping to encourage each viewer to look deeper into themselves, she seeks to compose harmonious, spontaneous expressions that nonetheless serve a purpose beyond the purely decorative. Jansen uses a wide range of materials including sand, soil, ash and stone, and additionally finds great joy in experimenting with colour.
