About this artwork
There are various translations of the Japanese word “Kintsugi” which is the ancient art of repairing broken ceramic with gold. Some have called it the “Art of Embracing Damage” and others the “Art of Precious Scars”. While both these descriptions resonate with me, “Broken Beauty” is perhaps the one I feel most connection to.
