About this artwork
During her artist in residence period in Ireland, Monique worked in het atelier but sometimes she was sitting by the window on the first floor. From there she was looking over the garden where the many craws were very busy taking care of their baby birds. One big social community. One day the sun was shining and showed her light on the drawing of the artist. It was like a window. Monique used this situation and it made her decide the continuation…
of the drawing.
From Irish artists she heard that craws are very social and loyal animals. Craws and other birds appear regularly in Monique’s artworks.
The drawing is mounted on aluminiu with profile on the backside. Then it is mounted on painted wood and has a off-white painted wooden frame.

« For me, art is a language, a way to communicate between my inner world and what happens outside. A language that creates other probabilities. »
