About this artwork
The creation of Alien is somewhat the culmination of a 30-year research process between tradition and modernity.
To create this sculpture, I first made a model in clay.
Then I made a resin mold which I use as a matrix to take an impression in the sand.
Next, I dig small patterns directly into the sand (visible in the photos).
Next comes the important phase of pouring into the mold at 650 degrees for aluminum (visible in the videos).
The sand… breaks down during demolding, making each piece completely unique.
Finally, I polish the piece.
