About this artwork
In ancient China, stones were seen as microcosmic mountains and the virtuous nature. The series of landscape paintings refers to this notion and is developed from stone portraits. In search of spiritual sustenance through painting the "mountains and waters" (Shan Shui), I can situate myself in this hectic world.

« I love hiking. It's a journey of listening to my heart, which, for me, is similar to making art. »
Winnie KS Hui is an artist based in China whose paintings have been exhibited nationally, as well as in South Korea, Australia, Italy, the United Kingdom, and the United States. For her, art is a means through which she wanders between reality and imagination. Hui's contemporary Chinese ink landscapes glorify the beauty of nature and the worth of the human soul.
