About this artwork
A composition freely adapted from sketches in Katsushika Hokusai's sketchbooks. The work deals with the brutalization of society through ever-increasing social differences and demarcations. According to the artist, the growing reclusiveness of many and the shift in communication to anonymous platforms exacerbates this problem.

Moritz Albert is an award-winning painter and draftsman based in Germany whose works have been exhibited nationally and in Belgium. His works center around themes relating to memory, identity and its formation, as well as personal introspection. Often employing models and photographs, Albert's narrative-based figurative compositions are primarily created with oils, acrylics, and lithography techniques on canvas or wood.
