About this artwork
During a hike over the holy mountain Kurama near Kyoto (Japan), the artist found this somewhat hidden shrine. Fenced in and not signposted, it stood in the quiet forest and exuded a very special atmosphere. After drawings in his sketchbook, the artist painted this picture again at home.
