About this artwork
A small oil study of palm trees on a piece of wood found in the forest. This material study refers to wood as the traditional image carrier of oil painting. However, this piece of wood is not a conventional image carrier, but rather an objet trouvé. Unprimed it was not perfectly suitable for painting and the artist worked against the material more than with it. This type of work occurs again and again in order to play with the limits of the materials…

Moritz Albert is an award-winning painter and draftsman based in Germany whose works have been exhibited nationally and in Belgium.
