About this artwork
A makeshift group of medics who worked for the Red Cross in Germany during World War II. Composed from photographs from the artist's family heritage. It is not known whether there is a relationship to one of the people depicted. Moritz Albert is an award-winning painter and draftsman based in Germany whose works have been exhibited nationally and in Belgium. His works center around themes relating to memory, identity and its formation, as well as personal introspection. Often employing models and photographs, Albert's narrative-based figurative compositions are primarily created with oils, acrylics, and lithography techniques on canvas or wood.
