The visionary work of contemporary photographer Marlies Getz is grounded in a solid professional education, which she completed as a Master of Photography in Vienna. Shaped by the spirit of a Viennese art scene that values the gaze of the unhurried flâneur and documents transience, her conceptual and fine art photography focuses on the medium of light and the architecture of image composition. Her diverse body of work encompasses conceptual image series as well as minimalist studies of space and light using medium format (Hasselblad). She combines analog and digital techniques and expands her visual worlds through painterly interventions.
