About this artwork
An angel with a downcast gaze embodies gentleness, contemplation, and hope. Its melancholic face evokes the fragility of the world, while its wings bear words laden with meaning: heart, peace, as well as the names of Ukrainian cities such as Odessa, Kyiv, and Mariupol.
The subdued palette, dominated by brown and ivory tones, creates a striking contrast with the blue and yellow necklace, the colors of the Ukrainian flag, a vibrant symbol of solidarity… and support for Ukraine. The angel's delicate expression invites silence and reflection, like a pictorial prayer directed toward peace.
Through this simple and symbolic composition, I pay tribute to the victims of the conflict and convey a universal message of love and hope.
