About this artwork
To me elephants have always seemed to be the strongest of animals that would endure above all others. The reality is quite different. As the world crumbles away around it, the fate of the elephant rests on the stability of the earth that it stands on. In this painting the elephant watches helplessly as it's partner slips away into the swirling, misty void desperately reaching out for one final touch. Is this the last elephant?
