About this artwork
When I took my eyes off you
To the dark night
A horseman fell from inside me
Objects and images overflow beyond known boundaries; they tear apart the solid surfaces of meanings and reveal new layers of existence. When the pieces used in my collages are torn from their traditional contexts and reassembled, the relationship between the subject and the object undergoes a transformation. This transformation allows us to discover a new visual language… beyond one-dimensional reality and directs us to the question, “Can chaos and order coexist?”

Mustafa Mutlu
Türkiye
Mustafa Mutlu, born in Konya, is an acclaimed artist excelling in painting, sculpture, and graphics. He leverages the deep allure of oil painting, utilizing multi-layered paint to create a fascinating illusion of depth and a homogenous, blurry image with the aid of an airbrush. Mutlu's work is a maelstrom of raw emotions; it paints a poignant picture of post-war devastation, posing existential questions and exploring the coexistence of chaos and order. His art is a dialogue between rebellion and resilience.
