About this artwork
Myles Howell's body of work is focused on the abstraction of bone structures found in the deserts of Southern Utah. He's had a long interest in the shapes and complexities within bone forms found while exploring desert landscapes. Solace is carved from Pakistan Green Onyx, and mounted to a black granite base. This stone is very complex and beautiful with different variations of pattern and color throughout.

Myles Howell is a contemporary sculptor from the US with national exposure. He received his Bachelors of Fine Arts in Sculpture from USU in 2013 and recently received a Masters Degree in Sculpture. Using various types of precious stone, Howell crafts sculptors that seem to float away from the ground despite the density of their medium.
