ARTIST STATEMENT
“I believe that the Western lifestyle is iconic; it’s the blood of America that courses through our veins, I value looking back & taking stock as a way to help guide & give us insight as we move forward in understanding others beliefs and motivation.” I support the rebirth of the Native American culture & hope that my artistic approach will both honor that heritage & spark further interest in its resurgence. There is so much greatness… to take with us from the past, to the present & into the future.”
“My art allows me to capture moments & to convey my deepest thoughts & emotions about the personal stories that I want to share. I believe it is the role of the artist to inspire & transformation the human spirit. I sincerely believe that the Western Visions project, expressed through my paintings & photo illustrations, has the power to transcend language & cultural barriers, enabling us to embrace the beauty & complexity of the human experience.
Myron Beck, an accomplished painter and photographer with roots in Nebraska ranch life and formal training from the Art Center College of Design, weaves his background in commercial photography into evocative Western artistry. He employs a unique “oil staining” technique—meticulously layering translucent oil paints—to create depth and painterly detail reminiscent of masters like Bierstadt and Remington. His large-scale works and photo illustrations capture the grandeur and complexity of the American West, radiating reverence, nostalgia, and profound emotional resonance for both Native American heritage and the timeless spirit of Western culture.
