About this artwork
Working on 12" vinyl records holds a special appeal for me. I consider the creative possibilities the record offers. Here, I've developed a new motif (inspired by a booklet for another record). The record label evokes for me the darkness and eeriness of Walpurgis Night. Witches fly on their broomsticks to the Brocken mountain to dance with the devil. I got this record from a young musician, Lewin Krumpschmid, who trained and is active as a classical…
pianist and solo artist, and is also the keyboardist for Soulsplitter, a progressive metal band. The record by the band, which I used as the basis for this piece, is titled "Connection" (as if it were a connection with the devil).
