About this artwork
A few years ago, I began to explore artificial intelligence (AI) and its impact on our society. I wanted to understand what it means, and what positive and negative developments and impacts artificial intelligence has. People talk about "disruptive innovations." I view the multitude of developments critically. Applications developed from sound ethical principles can often be misused. The market power of a few large market players can endanger our…
democracies. Deepfakes, for example, can be used ever more easily and deceptively to spread misinformation and manipulate opinion. Fears of massive job losses are high. Following these ever-accelerating developments is becoming increasingly difficult for many. I try to express my displeasure and emotions regarding these developments through gestural, "disruptive" movements on canvas with brushes and spray paint.
