About this artwork
At the arepa for breakfast and something
At Ajiaco for lunch
In the sancocho for the pot walk
In the tamale and in the empanada
In chicha for the toast
On a street grill with butter and salt
And in porridge for after-dinner conversation
Yellow, white and purple…
Corncob, tuza or panocha…
On the coast and in the mountains
Identity and food
Lesson in diversity and resilience
Blessed… be corn

Throughout his career, he has developed a pictorial research that explores both the Mediterranean landscape and the exuberance of Colombian ecosystems, establishing a dialogue between the two territories. Trees, fruits, gardens, mountains, and everyday scenes become the protagonists of a body of work that invites viewers to pause and discover the beauty of the essential.
In addition to her artistic production, she combines her work with teaching, giving watercolor workshops and courses to students from different countries. Her practice is based on direct observation of the environment and the conviction that painting is a way of understanding and inhabiting the landscape.
