About this artwork
To create this diptych, Nadia was inspired by the stream that flows in our summer cottage forest.
As a child, riding her bicycles through a forest glade, she and other children always stopped to look at this red water in the stream.
It is completely transparent in spite of the color, and you can see everything that happens underneath.
Nadia was fascinated by these reflections - the world above and the world below!
One continuation of the other.
And… the choice of the diptych is also not accidental.
This forest stream runs under the road. On the one hand, it flows in, and on the other, it flows out. Imagine that you, like little Nadia, are standing with one foot on this road, the other on the pedal of a bicycle and looking left and right. And everywhere these delicate reflections of pines - a hundred meters up and a hundred meters down.
Mosquitoes squeak around, a cuckoo cuckoo and smells of pine needles.
June. The holidays have just begun, and there is an endless summer ahead.
