About this artwork
Bush fires in Australia, are part of the renewing cycle of nature that happens every year. However, in the last few years, the bush fires have been getting out of control as a result of the climate change caused by the irresponsible management of resources and the greediness of industry.
I chose to portray a Koala, an iconic animal to this land, which is one of the many vulnerable animals suffering the consequences. By doing this, I am hoping to… raise awareness of this issue in particular and give a voice to these creatures that cannot speak on their own.
(This artwork is currently being exhibited at the Caloundra Regional Gallery in Australia, and will be available for purchase again after 2nd May 2021)

Katt creates using oils, acrylics, graphite, charcoal, pens, markers, vinyl, ink, dye, watercolors, and pigments.
