About this artwork
This work highlights the characteristics and freedom of abstraction. The forms, represented randomly, escape geometry, their lines and curves not necessarily being straight. They give a feeling of movement on an immaculate background. It's like an avalanche of shapes and colors that meet, mingle. A few letters and numbers break the abstraction, thus giving the viewer a landmark, without however carrying any particular meaning. No hidden message is… conveyed, it is up to the viewer to feel and interpret the work.
The limited choice of colors aims to highlight the complexity of perceptual phenomena. The combination of different shapes and their repetition create visual movement.
This exposition of the most abstract ideas does not free us from the grip of our perception, on the contrary, it intensifies it and invites us to explore the multiple facets of our interpretation.
Nadine Hardy's intention is to find harmony in order or disorder through color. The abstract painter, who is based in France, believes that through color, one can translate signs, symbols, and emotions. Hardy feels that it is both a link and a point of reference between what we see and what we feel through the lens of our personal experience, cultural roots and environment. Her bold pieces are created using acrylics on wood.
