About this artwork
This bas-relief presents a procession of five stylized and abstract figures, as if in frozen movement. They almost seem to slide one after the other, in a fluid and continuous rhythm, embodying a play of curved lines and geometric shapes. Each of the figures, although simplified to the essentials, reveals a unique posture, bringing a visual dynamic that is inspired by kinetic art. Nadine Hardy's intention is to find harmony in order or disorder through color. The abstract painter, who is based in France, believes that through color, one can translate signs, symbols, and emotions. Hardy feels that it is both a link and a point of reference between what we see and what we feel through the lens of our personal experience, cultural roots and environment. Her bold pieces are created using acrylics on wood.
