About this artwork
This work was made on a rusty sheet of steel.
The artist plays in two stages. First on the oxidation of the steel and then on the mixture of the pigments of the rust and the paint. She chose this medium for its authenticity. In his opinion, rust gives character and life to a painting. Here the artist has chosen to emphasize the texture more than the color of the rust although it appears very subtly in places.
This is a semi abstract representation… of a Totem head from the Arawak civilization.
