Amidst these forms stands the fragmented figure of a man, vulnerable and introspective. White lines break up the surface—symbolizing how blows of fate break open what has been created and strain inner forces. Drops of paint cause the body to melt, as if it were withdrawing into itself. An intense orange-violet stain on his chest marks the site of the challenge: the heart.
