About this artwork

The painting "Moroccan Bride" depicts a woman in traditional wedding attire typical of the capital city of Rabat, where Berber and Andalusian traditions intertwine. A rich golden-yellow caftan, embroidered with flowers, is accented by a massive gold belt and adorned with magnificent pendants, necklaces, and a tiara of filigree metal.
The deep burgundy background evokes traditional Moroccan fabrics and carpets, creating an atmosphere of comfort and… sacredness. The painting becomes not only a portrait of the bride but also a symbol of the wedding ritual as a dedication and the beginning of a new life.
The painting is in the private collection of Her Royal Highness Princess Lala Hasna of Morocco.
