About this artwork
Evolution: an abstract work - Close-knit men who evolve over time - A conceptual painting made of relief and light. In this work, I wanted to capture the breath of life, the raw energy that animates our cities and our lives. I used acrylic and sand to give a palpable, almost living texture that invites introspection. The abstract shapes evoke the incessant passage of time and the perpetual metamorphosis that surrounds us.
« Let your painting always be an opening to the world. -Leonardo da Vinci »
Natacha Gillot is a French-based artist whose work has been featured in solo exhibitions nationwide. She describes her artistic approach as always guided by a common thread that encompasses the depth of everything around us, the imprint of life, and perspective—all stemming from a philosophy of life. Gillot's abstract and conceptual compositions are digitally conceived and then created on canvas or wood by structuring relief with sand and modeling paste. Acrylic paint is then used to illuminate and color her works.
