In this creation, I poured my soul into capturing the complexity of human emotions, contrasting the stark realism of a human gaze with vibrant, pop-art elements. The interplay of acrylics, collage, spray, and ink on paper breathes life into the work, evoking a powerful sense of being caught between different facets of identity. This piece is intended to be a window into the soul, offering a dynamic and emotional energy that will resonate within the…
space it inhabits.

« Once I find a face that captivates me, my mind drifts and I begin to invent a narrative around its features and create an environment that gives the subject a new persona. »
Natalia Berglund is a painter and sculptor based in the United States whose works have been featured in numerous solo and group exhibitions nationally. Her artistic focus specifically relates to narrative portraiture, as the expressive qualities of the human face fascinate her. Berglund's knows most of the people featured in her art personally, they are not models, but she describes them as beautiful people "inside and out". She photographs them in her studio and references these pictures when painting.
