About this artwork
Under the Crown of the Unreal
Part of the "Between the Worlds" series – a collection of mystical and symbolic works exploring the transition between dream, fantasy, and reality. It combines abstraction, symbolism, magical realism, and contemporary painting into a metaphysical experience. A fantastical mangrove tree rises from turquoise water, roots floating like veins, while two frogs share a silent secret beneath its dense canopy.
Rich textures… of acrylic, hot glue, and structural paste create a tactile work of art. The composition carries the organic energy of nature—an invitation to stillness, touch, and contemplative perception.
This work has been highlighted by the regional press (Rheinische Post, Neue Rhein Zeitung) and embodies the connection between the world of the elements, flora and fauna, and myth and spiritual depth. The painting is finished with a UV-protective varnish and mounted in a wooden frame.
Natalia Kison is a contemporary artist working at the intersection of painting and relief. Her practice explores matter as a vessel of memory, where surface, trace, and form become inseparable. Working with acrylic, marble powder, and texture pastes she creates textured, tactile surfaces that allude to archaic symbols and geological structures. Her artistic language is rooted in materiality, symbolism, and the inner expressiveness of form.
