"Moving back to France after 15 years in the tropics, I was awakened by the beauty of the leafless trees of winter and got inspired by the embroidered like abstract patterns. For the first time I noticed the beauty rather than the sign of a coming long winter."

« Poems are invisible paintings and paintings are silent poems. »
Natalie L is a French artist whose work is informed by Shinrin-Yoku, a form of therapy which consists in drawing energy from nature. Working principally in acrylics, Natalie L takes inspiration from the motif of trees. Her different series explore the various ways in which we can view this subject, from bark textures to forest scenes. In combining realism and abstraction, Natalie L’s works do not simply re-appropriate the natural world. They rather leave room for the spectator to interact with this familiar subject in new ways.
