The colours will keep shining in this piece and represents an outpouring of gratitude for the one person in your life who is/was your role model, never failed you and never let you down. Fabienne was my French teacher and I met her when I was sixteen, we became best friends for life when I turned 18 years old and left college. She saw something… in me, never judged me or questioned my motives or character and I am who I am in part because of her. The original piece now in Montpellier with her son, was commissioned in the fullness of her life. She epitomised dynamism and intelligence.
As the originator of Scribe Art and "Storyism" I am known as the people's artist and poet and have also written the poem that defines the piece.

Natalie Sommer is a self-taught established British painter, sculptor, conceptual and visual artist, and poet, working primarily in acrylic on canvas and mixed media. She is the creator of the unique genres "Scribe Art" and "Storyism," blending vibrant, layered colours, distorted forms, and poetic verses, often incorporating found objects and engraved text. Her intricate, multi-perspective pieces celebrate resilience, connection, and hope, challenging stigmas and societal taboos. Natalie Sommer channels raw emotion—defiant vulnerability, courage, and universal empathy—into art that comforts, empowers, and inspires viewers to embrace their true selves. Her work has been featured several times in the arts edition of House and Garden. UTOPIAN ATTITUDE was selected by Rosie Millard OBE and exhibited in ING Discerning Eye 2025 - The Mall Galleries one of the most prestigious exhibitions in the UK 14 - 23 November. Natalie Sommer is also known as the "people's artist".
