Many hours went into Collective's creation, from digging the sun baked, dry root and cactus fibers out of the desert, to scrubbing, scouring, peeling, hand smoothing, forming, painting and sculpting the cactus root to a smooth, hard or soft sheen.

Nath Raye is an acclaimed artist from the United States whose work has been featured in international publications. She discovered the healing properties of art after recovering from a spinal injury by collecting sun baked cactus carcasses in the desert and turning this raw material into sculptures. Inspired by the beauty of nature, each piece Raye crafts is made from a natural piece of wood or fiber found in the desert.
