About this artwork
In this work I have created a fusion of surreal elements which gives rise to a symphony of colors and emotions. The central character is a representation of Perseis, a water nymph from Greek mythology. She embodies the protection and nourishment of the nature that surrounds her. The vibrant flowers symbolize the richness of the human spirit, while the birds and butterflies evoke freedom and escape. At the top of her head, she carries a miniature…
world that invites daydreaming and escape. This painting thus offers a multitude of interpretations and arouses the imagination of the viewer.

For over twenty years, Nathalie Roure has dedicated herself to painting, her practice guided by the desire to tell stories, whether inspired by everyday life or entirely fantastical. Narrative is at the heart of her work. The artist particularly enjoys creating portraits and surreal scenes that explore the dialogues between humans and animals, thus creating worlds that are both familiar and imaginary. Roure paints primarily in acrylics, but not exclusively. Her approach blends surrealism, storytelling, and fantasy, creating a personal and poetic universe! The artist currently explores various techniques, sometimes combining oil, graphic pencil, charcoal, and inks. Her work is regularly exhibited at international art fairs.
