About this artwork
At the time I painted this image I was in the midst of supporting my children though their primary schooling. I became aware that some parents were not as caring for their children as I had been cared for, or, as I was trying to care for my own children. The realisation that some children were born into families where their parents weren't able, or willing, to accept the responsibility that bringing children into the world demands, I found distressing.
