About this artwork
"Rising Phoenix" embodies the essence of immortality and rebirth, inspired by ancient Egyptian symbolism. This textured artwork captures the beauty of the Phoenix rising from its ashes, symbolizing courage and resilience.
This piece reflects my personal journey. Born in Alexandria, I faced challenges with my father's controlling nature "as a woman" over my education and marriage. With the help of close friends, I moved to Cairo to work and study,… defying cultural norms. Traveling to Turkey, Germany, Morocco, and India opened my mind and inspired me to move to the USA alone, rebuilding my career. Like the Phoenix, I rose anew when everyone thought it was the end. "Rising Phoenix" embodies that spirit of resilience and renewal.
the materials that I used, Heavy duty canvas, Liquitex modeling paste, nonflammable acrylic adhesive, acrylic colors, oil pastel.
