About this artwork
Contemplative color field painting with subtle color blending, contrast and fine details. Textured with many layers of gesso to prime the canvas then applied acrylic paint with spatulas and palate knifes creating very organic textures and forms, completed with sennelier soft and oil pastels, high quality Sennelier and Golden Acrylics.
There is a lot of hand work done on this painting with the mixing and blending of the acrylic and oil pastels using… my fingers! The effect is visually amazing with changes so subtle that they seems to naturally be flowing together.

Nestor Toro is a dedicated American artist whose works have been exhibited throughout Los Angeles. Influenced by his many travels and a consequent appreciation for cultural difference, he infuses each abstract painting with a vibrant and rich colour palette, designed to reflect this energy of difference and discovery. Toro takes additional inspiration from aquariums - their coordinated fluidity and the movement of sea life in confined spaces - and seeks to connect this to the spaces on his canvases.
