For this work I used a large palette knife and hand mixed acrylic paint and mediums. The work is completely created spontaneously and is allowed to develop organically with no preconceived direction (inspired by the expressive works of Gerhard Richter) and results in a rich expressive work which leaves the viewer free to experience… the work on a purely emotional level.

Nestor Toro is a dedicated American artist whose works have been exhibited throughout Los Angeles. Influenced by his many travels and a consequent appreciation for cultural difference, he infuses each abstract painting with a vibrant and rich colour palette, designed to reflect this energy of difference and discovery. Toro takes additional inspiration from aquariums - their coordinated fluidity and the movement of sea life in confined spaces - and seeks to connect this to the spaces on his canvases.
