About this artwork
A few years ago I created a series called Elementary Structures of Everyday Life, in which constructivism, calligraphy, cubism, and abstraction appeared as possibilities of structural, formal, and chromatic relationships.
So many years of study and work do with certain styles and influences naturally incorporated into the work of the artist and his repertoire of themes and pictorial motifs. The structure I learned from the Russians, the surrealism… I learned from Miró, the delicate chromatic power of Paul Klee's work, and so many other references, were inevitably shaping my way of representing the world. At the beginning of the career it is simple and natural to deal with influences and learn from them, then the artist spends the rest of his life trying to get rid of them and build something, some style, that is essentially his ... I remain working .. .

Scheufler can remember drawing since he was 3 years old, at his childhood home in Porto Alegre. Now a seasoned professional, his restless spirit ensures he continues to push boundaries and explore various ways of working, all these years later.
