About this artwork
This work is from a series dealing with passion, lust and, initially, unrequited love. It is a visual exploration of desire by the naive and curious twenty-three year old that I then was, living and working on a cruise ship based in Alaska. I had fallen in love with Maria-Teresa, the Assistant Purser, a feeling that was not, at that time, reciprocated. The series deals with the convoluted trajectories of a tumult of emotions from the onset, its cat…
and mouse nature, to the more mature and perhaps more complex cohabiting (upon dry land) conclusion.
