About this artwork
This is a painting of gallery owner Tripoli Patterson, who is also a pro surfer. Everyone knows Trip here on the east end of Long Island, and though he started his gallery in a tough economy when he was only in his twenties, it has survived and thrived for over 14 years now, and Trip has put himself on the map by showing some very influential artists. In this painting I try to capture his charm and introspection, and fearlessness.
