About this artwork
A unique work of art, created with fluorescent pigments, based on the concept LIGHT PENETRATES DARKNESS.
With "INJURY," Nicole Jutka creates a powerful work at the intersection of painting and object art. Painted on a recycled cardboard form, the portrait composition confronts us with both vulnerability and resilience.
Jutka writes:
“Injuries make you stronger – when you discover your own light within.”
This work embodies precisely that: an… injured body as a bearer of power, an object that oscillates between sculpture, painting, and manifesto.
The work can be installed under black light, giving it a second life. Since 2014, the artist has been working with fluorescent colors as part of the concept "Light Penetrates the Darkness," which has been exhibited at the Löffler Museum in Slovakia and the National Museum of Roman Art, among others.
Nicole Jutka, born in Bucharest and with a background in painting, fashion, and graphic design, uses fluorescent pigments, classical painting, sculpture, and digital media. Deeply fascinated by the interplay of light and darkness, she creates "sculptural paintings" that unfold different dimensions under changing light, playing with perspectives, colors, and textures. Her works convey hope, light, and love as luminous forces that break through darkness, inviting visitors on an emotional, spiritual journey full of adventure and discovery.
