About this artwork
Monet, an Impressionist at heart, is always quietly present in my studio 😉.
So this piece naturally became a little tribute to him.
A nice extra: it's a triptych, which opens up all kinds of possibilities and gives the landscape even more room to breathe.
If you take a closer look, you'll notice the pure Belgian linen peeking through here and there. Little traces of the process remain visible, allowing you to feel how the painting came to life… — honest, intuitive, and full of movement.
And when that happens, my heart does a tiny little happy dance. Hihi

Nicole Schellekens, working under the name Nicole S. Pousset, (after my grandfather) is a Belgian painter with a background in graphic design, now based in Antwerp.
She paints with expressive, loose brushwork, blending figuration and suggestion to capture people in motion, illuminated by delicate contrasts of light and shadow.
Embracing simplicity and emotional depth, her style reflects influences from Rembrandt to Rubens while inviting viewers to pause and reflect. Her art radiates optimism, tenderness, and the quiet beauty of human connection, offering a gentle counterbalance to the heaviness of modern life.
Her paintings can now be found in both private and public collections. Today, her work is represented by several galleries in Belgium and abroad.
