About this artwork
Handmade out of stoneware clay by a Barcelona artist. She shaped the bare skull out of clay and then added muscles and glands to one side of the face. She fired it in the pottery kiln to 1240 degrees Celsius. It can be used outside.

Niho Ceramics is a design studio based in Spain that was founded by sculptor and designer, Nicole Hofmann. Describing her visual language as both bold and colorful, she cites curiosity and experimentation as integral to her creative practice. Hofmann's ceramics are made with stoneware clay, which she creates on a pottery wheel. In addition, she also employs hand-building techniques like pinching and coiling while also developing new glazes.
