About this artwork
Acrylic on cradled wooden panel with 2 coats of gloss varnish, the edges are painted a dark bronze black.
The inspiration for this painting is the fear of losing my imagination, when I close my eyes there's more going on inside than there is on the outside.
OH WELL
HOW LONG CAN YOU KEEP KEEPING ON
BUT WHAT WOULD YOU DO IF YOU CLOSED YOUR EYES
AND THERE WAS NOTHING INSIDE

« I want the viewer to take what they want from the painting. »
Niki Hare is a self-taught British artist who has exhibited her work internationally. Principally exploring ideas of existence and the individual’s perception, she
spontaneously creates works that play with layers and narratives, offering a multitude of potential interpretations in her emphasis on the temporary. Hare's pieces ultimately act as a visual diary, and appear bright, intentional and complex.
